Embracing Your Newborn
Meets every Thursday from 1-3pm.
This class currently meets virtually.
Congratulations on the birth of your baby!
Adding a newborn to your family is a wonderful and challenging time for most parents. Having a place to talk about what you are experiencing is helpful as you adjust to your new normal.
Join us to meet other new parents, share the challenges and joys of living with a newborn, and ask any questions you might have.
This is an ongoing class. You can join at any time and attend as many sessions as you wish until your baby is 3 months old. When your baby turns 3 months you move to the Embracing Your 3-6 month old class.
Each session is focused on a specific topic such as calming and soothing, transitioning to parenthood, childcare options, sharing birth experiences or wearing your baby. Plenty of time for questions and discussion is built into each session.
This class is for babies from birth to 3 months of age along with their parent(s).
This class is supported by the midwives at the Puget Sound Birth Center and is offered at no charge to the community.
Embracing Your 6-12 month old
Meets every Tuesday 1-3pm.
This class currently meets virtually.
Suddenly your baby is on the MOVE!
The first year in your baby’s life can be a challenging time. Join us as we help you navigate this incredible time in the life of your family.
The format is the same as the Embracing Your Newborn class but you don’t need to have participated in that group to join now!
Common topics discussed during this class include baby proofing, balancing working and parenting, developmental milestones, encouraging adventurous eaters, nurturing your parenting partnership and strategies for nighttime parenting.
This class is for babies from 6 to 12 months of age along with their parent(s).
There is a fee for this class. To allow for flexibility in your family schedule class passes are offered.

Embracing Your 3-6 month old

The first year in your baby’s life can be a challenging time. Join us as we help you navigate this incredible time of your life.
The format is the same as the Embracing Your Newborn class but you don’t need to have participated in that group to join now!
Common topics discussed during this class include teething, developmental milestones, introducing solid foods, nurturing your parenting partnership and strategies for nighttime parenting.
This class is for babies from 3 to 6 months of age along with their parent(s).

Embracing Your Toddler
Meets on the second Thursday of each month 7-9pm
This class currently meets virtually.
Aren’t toddlers awesome?! Their drive toward becoming more independent demands new strategies around setting and enforcing limits for them.
The class meets once a month on the second Thursday evening from 7-9pm. To help facilitate our discussion, toddlers should be left at home but non-mobile babies are welcome.
Common topics discussed during this class include understanding and taming tantrums, supporting emotional intelligence, potty teaching/learning, navigating food preferences, becoming a big sibling.
This class is for parents of children 15 to 36 months old.
Bring your current celebrations and challenges and expect a lively discussion! If there are specific topics you are interested in discussing please make a note in the comments section of the registration form.

Embracing Your Preschooler
Meets on the second Thursday of each month 7-9pm.
This class currently meets virtually.
Imagination and creativity explodes in this age group! Their language and communication skills take off as well. All this growth often shows up as saucy, sassy or bossy behavior.
The class meets once a month on the second Thursday evening from 7-9pm. To help facilitate our discussion, older children should be left at home but non-mobile babies are welcome.
Common topics discussed during this class include teaching natural consequences for choices, supporting emotional intelligence, considerations in choosing a formal preschool, navigating food preferences, and becoming a big sibling.
This class is for parents of children 3 to 5 years old.
